1. Support your Local Library (August 27th - 31st, 2018) The first week of school coincides with the last week of Library Card Sign up month. During this time the library will be encouraging students and parents to sign up for a library card through their local library, and educating people about the resources available for the community.
2. A Mystery at the Library (September 17th-21st, 2018) There's a mystery afoot at the library--follow the clues hidden in the library to discover what new books lay in wait and where they are hiding.
3. Spooky Reads Week (October 25th - 31st) The library will be dark and spooky as students check out and read their books by flashlight only...prepare to be scared.
4.Game Zone (November 5th - 9th, 2018) In celebration of International Games Week, the library will be transformed into an interactive historical catalog of games, where students will explore game history, as well of a variety of video, computer, board and card games designed to test thinking and strategy skill
5. I spy... (December 10th - 14th, 2018) In anticipation of Winter break, and the search for the next great book to read over the break, students will guess the photographs of which teachers are holding their favorite books in front of their faces. Every day that week will be a new set of teachers and a new set of awesome books to discover!
6. Book Buddies (January 7th-11, 2019) Coming back to school after a break can be hard, sometimes you need a little help from a friend--so this week, older students will be paired with a younger students to read together and share their favorite books!
7. Valentines Read-a-thon (February 11th-15th, 2019) Attention Students who are in LOVE with reading! You will have one full week to read as much as they can. The student with the most logged and verified reading time will be the winner of a brand new book of their choice
8. Kid Einstein (March 4th - 8th) The library invites all the mad scientists, creators and artists, to educate the school about their creations by combining their research and tech skills into a public display.
9. Dear, PJ's (April 8th-12th) Everyone loves a good acronym, so in celebration of acronyms and D.E.A.R day (Drop Everything and Read), students will be able to spread out anywhere in the library to read their favorite book in the comfort of their PJ's (pajamas)!
10. Books & Puppies (April 29th - May 3th) Yes, Puppies! This week, students will share their joy of reading with trained therapy dogs--because what better way is there to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Children's Book Week, than with man's best friend?
